1.How does it work?

At MINE, we know that when women aren’t pregnant, they are used to a huge walk-in closet full of clothing. However, during pregnancy, it’s just hard to justify spending $80 on that cute blouse or $200 for a great dress, that you’ll maybe only wear for four or five months. So you resign yourself to a few basic items and wear them week-in week-out. Or you take your sister or best friend’s maternity clothes (which aren’t your size and definitely NOT your style) and wear them.

Well, we are here to show you a different way to dress while you’re pregnant. We created MINE for the professional woman to feel like even though she is pregnant, she still has that huge walk-in closet selection of maternity clothes to choose from. We offer customers the option to borrow brand new or gently used clothes for at least 75% off retail prices. In addition, each piece of clothing will be dry cleaned and inspected by one of our inspectors before being shipped and if we wouldn’t borrow it, then we won’t offer it on the website.

So instead of buying that business suit for $250, borrow it from us for as little $62. Or if you are thinking of spending $85 for that brand new work blouse, you can borrow four from us. You’ll spend the same amount of money, but you get more of selection and can vary your wardrobe every month if you choose. Plus, you can wear clothing that fit you right now, not what you are supposed to grow into!

And just in case, you see something on the website that you absolutely love, we’ll also offer you the option to buy the clothing brand new at the full retail price, as long as it’s still available.

So now that you understand the idea behind the website, here’s how easy it is to borrow an item:

  • Browse through our fabulous maternity closet and when you find something that fits your style, choose to borrow it.
  • Borrow by the month, or if you want to keep it longer, that’s great too! There’s never a late fee. However, if it’s an evening gown, we know you don’t normally need it for more than a weekend, so evening gowns, are just a fourteen-day borrowing window (giving you a enough time to receive it and return it to us).
  • Borrow more than one item at a time. If you already have a pair of black maternity pants, go ahead and borrow a few of our blouses to mix and match.
  • When your belly has gotten too big for the clothing you have or you’re ready to change out your maternity wardrobe, just return those items and tell us what you want to borrow next!
2.What are some advantages to borrowing instead of buying?

There are lots of advantages to borrowing maternity clothes. Here are just a few reasons:

Savings: Allow you to borrow fashionable maternity clothes without the long-term investment.

Fit: Allow you to wear your correct size while your body is constantly changing.

Variety: Allow you to have an expanded maternity wardrobe without the associated costs.

Designers: Allow you access to private label designers from all over the world that are not sold in any nation-wide maternity clothing chains.

Trendy: Allow you to look and feel beautiful wearing trendy maternity clothing at a fraction of the cost of purchasing the clothing outright.

Closet space: You no longer have to worry about what to do with all your maternity clothes after the baby is born.

Seasonality: Your pregnancy stretches over multiple seasons, resulting in your maternity clothing needs varying seasonally.

3.Are these “new” items? What condition are the items in?

All of our items are either “new” or in “like new” condition. We have very high standards at MINE. Each “like new” item is professionally dry cleaned and inspected before it is allowed to be “borrowed” by one of our customers.

Yes, of course!  Not only does Mine for Nine offer you the affordable luxury of changing clothes as often as your shape (or mood...) changes, but also we make it easy to get just the right fit.  We measure each and every garment's bust, waist and hip dimensions, plus inseam and back length, so you know exactly what you're getting.  No need to read the tea leaves of regular size tables -- we tell you the actual dimensions for every garment, every size.

Still have a fit question?  Just contact one of our knowledgeable customer service representatives during regular business hours either by phone or e-mail and we will answer all your questions about a particular item.  Yes, we will make sure you never have to deal with an irritating waistband again!  We want you to feel comfortable ... it's important!

5.How do I measure my body to get the right fit?

Tops: measure your bust and your back (this gives you a better sense of how long the top will be since the back doesn’t take into account the extra fabric for your bump).

Blazers: measure your bust and your back (this gives you a better sense of how long the blazer will be since it doesn’t take into account the extra fabric for your bump).

Dresses: measure your bust, hips and dress length from the back of your shoulder to the bottom of the dress.

Pants: measure your hips and inseam.

Skirts: measure your hips and your hips to the bottom of the skirt.

Note: when looking at our measurements for stretchy fabric, it is the most the fabric will stretch comfortably.

 

Where should you measure?

Bust: Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.

Natural Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, keeping tape a bit loose

Hip: Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your leg.

Skirt/dress length: the distance from the hip to the bottom of your skirt.

Inseam: measure from the crotch to the bottom of the leg.

6.Can I “borrow” more than one item at time?

Of course you can. We created MINE for the professional woman to feel like even though she is pregnant, she still has that huge walk-in closet of maternity clothes to choose from. You can borrow blouses, pants, skirts, suits, and dresses in any combination. Maybe during your fifth month you just want a couple of blouses to spice up your wardrobe. Then in month six, you can add a business suit for that important conference or meeting and a work dress to mix things up a bit. It’s all up to you. As long as your account is in good standing, you can hold onto those blouses longer, or ship them back in exchange for the suit and work dress, whatever your preference is.

7.How long can I “borrow” an item?

Our standard borrowing period is one month (28 days) and two weeks for evening gowns; however, there are no limits to you borrowing from our closet as long as your account is in good standing. If the borrowed items are not returned within seven days of the due date and the appropriate shipping service (USPS, UPS or Federel Express) do not show the package was dropped in the mail, MINE will charge the customer for an additional rental period (two weeks if a two week rental and one month for monthly rentals). This will continue until we receive the item back.

8.How do I find my perfect maternity wardrobe?

MINE’s search engines allow you to search our website by clothing type, size, color, price, designers and what is available to borrow versus what is available to buy.

9.Is there a membership?

At MINE, we want to make the process of borrowing from our maternity closet as simple as possible. So, there are no membership fees and you can browse our website without having to register. We just ask that if you decide to borrow or buy from our closet that you provide us with the appropriate contact information at checkout.

10.How will I know the clothing will be cleaned?

All Mine clothing will have an inspected by MINE tag verifying it has been cleaned and cleared to be “borrowed”.

11.Occasionally, I see an item on your site one day and not the next, why is that?

If you no longer see an item, that means that we are no longer carrying that particular piece. If we still have the merchandise, but the clothing is currently being borrowed by another customer, you can put the item on your wish or wait list and we will notify you when it is back in our closet.

12.What is the wait list and the wish list option?

The wish list allows you to keep track of clothing that you like but may not need right at the moment. For example, you have your cousin’s wedding in three months and you like one of our evening gowns, just put it on your wish list and when you’re ready to borrow the dress, you’ll know exactly which one you wanted.

The wait list lets us know which clothing you may want to borrow, but is currently being loaned out to another customer. And, even if you put the item on your wait list, it doesn’t mean you are obligated to borrow it once it returns to our closet. We’ll just notify you that it’s available and then you can decide if you would like to still borrow the item.

13.Who pays for shipping and handling?

MINE provides complimentary standard delivery and returns on all orders over $75. Expedited delivery service is available for an additional cost.

14. Can I get my requested item sooner?

We offer several shipping options for both borrow and purchase orders: Complimentary standard shipping for orders over $75; standard shipping for orders less than $75; and three-day shipping. Just select your shipping option at the time you place your order.

We also ship to APO addresses.

15. When is my credit card charged for borrowing?

Clothing borrowing, shipping and insurance fees (if applicable) will be charged the date the order is placed.  When you request to borrow an item, you also agree to continue to be charged for the merchandise until it is returned to us based on the terms and conditions. And you have a one week grace period to return the clothing from its due date.

16. Do you accept checks or money orders?

Sorry, at this time MINE does not accept checks or money orders.

17. What, if any, taxes apply to my order?

Mine is required to collect sales tax for borrow and purchase orders delivered to the state of Florida.

18. What is optional insurance?

You may purchase supplemental insurance coverage. We know that some wear and tear is beyond your toll. But for those instances where you spill a drop of your ice latte on your blouse, we just ask that you treat the would-be stain while it’s still fresh if you have several days left on your “borrowing” window. However, if you prefer not to worry about stains, you can elect to purchase the $5 insurance charge, which will cover these little mishaps. Just to clarify though, significant destruction or theft is not covered under the insurance. In these situations, we’ll charge your credit card the full retail price of the clothing.

19. How long will it take to receive my item after you receive my request?

Once your order is received by our distribution center, we will confirm the availability of the item you requested to borrow or purchase. If it is available, you will receive your item within 5-7 business days for our standard shipping option. You may expedite your delivery by selecting three-day shipping options when placing your order for an additional cost.

20. What should I do with the security tag that is attached to my borrowed or purchased item?

The security tag should not be removed until your have inspected your item and made sure it fits. If you decide the size is incorrect or you no longer want to borrow or purchase the item, the SECURITY TAG MUST STILL BE ATTACHED when it is returned. If you keep the item for the borrow period or decide to purchase it, you may remove the tag and enjoy the merchandise. If you return the item, it must be mailed within three business days of receiving a merchandise return label and as long as it has not been worn and the security tag is still attached, customers will receive a refund. PLEASE NOTE: for all orders placed after June 30, 2014, customers will receive a store credit to MINE for all borrowed items. For those items purchased, there are no refunds for merchandise returned after 14 days or without an attached tag. Original shipping fee is non-refundable and customers are responsible for return shipping and insurance on all purchased items.

21. What if my borrowed clothing doesn’t fit and I want to return it?

If you receive your borrowed items and decide that you don’t like them or they just don’t fit correctly, you must notify us within the following time-frame and return the clothing with the SECURITY TAG STILL ATTACHED:

The clothing must be POSTMARKED within three (3) business days of receiving return postage label authorization to receive a refund. PLEASE NOTE: For all orders placed after June 30, 2014, customers will receive a store credit for MINE. 
Two Week Borrowing Must NOTIFY MINE by e-mail or phone within three (3) days of receiving the merchandise which is monitored by when you received the package.

The clothing must be POSTMARKED within three (3) business days of receiving return postage label authorization to receive a refund.  PLEASE NOTE: For all orders placed after June 30, 2014, customers will receive a store credit for MINE.
22. What if the item I’m borrowing becomes dirty?

We hope you will care for our clothing as if you were borrowing from one of your girlfriend’s closets. But we realize that there will be everyday wear and tear and there is no additional fee assessed in these instances. We just ask that if you spill a drop of iced latte on your blouse, that you treat the would-be stain while it’s fresh. (And, of course, we professionally clean and inspect every piece before it’s shipped out -- so you can be assured it looks like new). If the clothing is returned with stains, your account will be charged a reasonable stain removal or replacement fee (fee amount is at our discretion) if we can’t get the stain out and if you don’t opt for the $5 optional insurance.

23. Do I need to clean my garments before I return them?

Not usually.  Mine for Nine is pleased to take care of the regular dry cleaning or hand laundering of your lightly worn items.  We just ask that if you spill a drop of iced latte on your blouse, that you treat the would-be stain while it's fresh by either handwashing it and hang drying the clothing or

24. How do I return the clothing?

At MINE, we want to make the process of returning clothing as easy as possible. We know you may be juggling a job and possibly other children; therefore, all you have to do is follow these simple steps:

  • When you receive your clothing, save the box that was included in the packaging if there is not a separate mailing envelope included.
  • Once you are ready to ship it back, sign into your account and click on the “Return Shipping Labels” tab.
  • Locate the appropriate label based on order number or description and then print the return label.
  • Drop your package off at any United States Postal Service location. Borrowing fees will be suspended once the package is received by MINE based on the date of the postmark.
  • We’ll send you an e-mail once we receive the clothing.
  • If your shipping label is not yet posted to your account page, give us a call at 877-303-0680 or e-mail us at CUSTOMERSERVICE@MINEFORNINE.COM and we will upload the shipping label within 24 hours (do not use an old label because each label has a unique identifier).
25. What if I misplace/lose my return shipping envelope?

MINE provides each customer with materials to be used to ship back. If you misplace the box, it is your responsibility to send the clothing back by the due date in a new box at your own expense.

26.  I don’t have a printer. How do I generate a shipping label if I lost my original?

If you lose your shipping label, give us a call at 877-303-0680 or e-mail us at CUSTOMERSERVICE@MINEFORNINE.COM and we can e-mail you another form of if you don’t have a printer, we can just drop the form in the mail.

27. Can I buy instead of borrow?

We think borrowing maternity clothes is a great idea since these items are so temporal in nature and then you don’t have to worry about what do with the clothes after your done. But if you would prefer to own the clothing outright, we also offer to sell our items new at the full retail price as long as it’s available in inventory. Simply select the “Buy” button and it will be added to your shopping cart.

28. Are there limits to the number of items I can purchase?

There are no limits to the number of items you can borrow or purchase.

29. What if I want to return a purchased item?

If you receive your purchased items and decide you don’t like them or they just don’t fit correctly you may return the clothing for a refund.

You must notify us at CUSTOMERSERVICE@MINEFORNINE.COM or 877-303-0680 within three (3) business days of receiving the clothing. The returned clothing must then be postmarked within three business days of you receiving the return authorization label and the SECURITY TAG MUST STILL BE ATTACHED.

For those items purchased, there are no refunds for merchandise postmarked after three (3) business days OR without an attached security tag. Original shipping fee is non-refundable and customers are responsible for return shipping and insurance on all purchased items.

30. How do I return a purchased item?

Repackage your purchased item in original packaging and a COPY of your receipt. Simply choose your own method of shipping and send your package to the following address:

31. What happens if I fall in love with an item and want to keep it? Can I buy it?

Clothing Borrowed Brand New: If you are interested in buying an item and you borrowed the clothing brand new, we can sell it to you at the full retail price. Just e-mail us at customerservice@minefornine.com or call us at 877-303-0680 and let us know you want to buy the clothing and we’ll charge your credit card the difference between your rental costs and the retail price. However, if you have borrowed it for a period of time that exceeds the full retail price, we will not refund you the difference and there are no refunds once it’s purchased.

Clothing Borrowed Used: If you are interested in buying the clothing you borrowed used, just e-mail us at customerservice@minefornine.com or call us at 877-303-0680 and we’ll evaluate the clothing’s age and condition and respond back with a price. If you decide to purchase the item, just let us know and we’ll charge your credit card the difference between your borrowing costs and the price quoted. However, if you have borrowed it for a period of time that exceeds the quoted price, we will not refund you the difference and there are no refunds once it’s purchased.

32. How do I update my e-mail address and mailing address?

All you have to do is click on My Account on the MINE home page. Then click on the update contact information and provide us with your new information.

33. How does the 2nd size option work?

At MINE, we know it’s sometimes difficult to determine what size you are when you’re pregnant. We measure all the clothing, but we also offer the option to rent one additional size for a nominal amount. Just add the 2nd size to your cart and return it when the other size is due.
